We had intended to travel from Cobar to Dubbo today and then decided we would go to Wellington instead.
Still with the benefit of a tail wind, we were on the road before 8:00am in perfect driving conditions.
We stopped at Nyngan at the local bakehouse where we spoke to one of the staff members about the decision by the local council to close the free camping area (the locals are NOT happy about the decision).
Then on a bumpy road, we headed to Dubbo where we decided that we would travel to Orange or Bathurst and then decide if we would continue home. We know the area from Dubbo back to Sydney very well and stopping overnight would only be for the purpose of a rest.
Well, the rest is history, with the tail wind assisting us, we continued to Sydney arriving home just before 6:30pm. We had travelled 696k’s in very comfortable conditions. “He” was very happy with the fuel consumption on the return journey.
Our adventure was over!
We will post a summary of the trip in due course.
