1 May 2014 – Adelaide SA

It was wet when we awoke after a night of heavy rain.

The only major item on the agenda today was to meet friends who were flying in from Sydney to join us in our trip to the Eyre Peninsula.

We had to pass through security to go to the arrivals lounge and “He” had to make three attempts to clear security.  The first time “He” forgot to remove his mobile phone and the second time was stopped because of a small knife attached to a key ring.  Fortunately security allowed him to return the knife to our car.

Our friends arrived on time and after returning to the caravan park to offload baggage, we headed back into Adelaide for a tour of Haigh’s chocolate factory.  The 1st of May was actually their 99th birthday and we were given some free chocolate with the purchase we made from their shop.

Later we returned to the caravan park and enjoyed happy hour and an evening meal at a local café.  Whilst the majority of the day had remained dry, the rain returned in the evening.
