Our last outing in the caravan was to our ACC Branch Christmas at Berry NSW in late November 2015. Since that time we had not been able to use the caravan as we were waiting for hail damage suffered in August last year to be repaired. That work was undertaken and finished in February so as today arrived, we were ready to go.
Sydney has had a very dry March and that was until today. Knowing that rain was coming, we had completed most of our packing on the previous day so all that would be left today would be getting the caravan from our drive.
Normally we ensure that there is sufficient room in our street to extract the van but today that did not happen. Whilst we had cooperation from one neighbour, another neighbour was less that helpful and as a result, in medium to heavy rain it took us about 30 minutes to finally extract the caravan.
Needless to say as soon as we had the van out, the rain ceased and we had no further rain for the remainder of the day.
Our trip south was uneventful and relatively light traffic once we found our way through Bankstown to the M5 Motorway and finally the Hume Highway heading South.
We stopped at Suttons Forest for morning tea and then at Yass to refuel. We also took the time to purchase a few essential groceries in the township of Yass.
We arrived at Jugiong just after 2:30pm where we met friends.
The remainder of the afternoon was spent talking and we enjoyed a rather long happy hour having our evening meal around 9:00pm. We agreed to make sure that we eat at reasonable times in the future after all, we can always go back to happy hour after our evening meal.
Our time in the outdoors before our meal was very enjoyable as we were sitting under a cloud free starry night.
