We set our alarm for 7:00am expecting to wake well before the alarm. This was not the case as we had not replaced the alarm clock battery and we were surprised to find that the time was actually 7:15am when we got up.
“She” paid a visit to our on-board amenities only to find that the system would not flush. A quick check of fuses revealed a blown fuse which was replaced. Two fuses later we came to the conclusion that we had an issue.
“He” spent a considerable amount of time phoning caravan repair establishment in towns we would be visiting over coming days. No one was able to help. We were however given the phone number of Thetford Australia who we called. Although very helpful, they could not locate an agent close to our route over coming days. “He” finally spoke to one of their specialists and it was determined that the issue involves a solenoid. “He” was given the name of an agent in Darwin and the person to speak with. The spare part number was also provided.
We left our camp at 10:30am and headed to Wellington where we stopped for lunch. A call was made to Darwin and the van booked in for replacement of the part. The very helpful staff member ordered the part immediately.
We left Wellington and proceeded to Dubbo for fuel before heading away from our route to our overnight stop at a delightful place called Terrmungamine Reserve. Adjacent to a river, this is a very popular free camp site (24 hour stopover).
We enjoyed happy hour. “He” flew the quad copter again to photograph the camp site.
As the sun set, we all headed to our respective RV’s for our evening meals and a night expected to be a little warmer than the previous night.
Fuel consumption so far is around the mid 17’s. This is acceptable as we have not been travelling on flat ground and the wind was a factor today. Will be be happy if our consumption reduces slightly but more happier if the fuel cost remains lower than $1.20 per litre.
