25 May 2016 – Peterborough to Rawnsley Park Station (Flinders Ranges) SA

“He” woke at 3:08am when rain started to fall.  The forecast had been for rain later in the morning and we had hoped to be on the road in the dry.

“He” had to ready the caravan for departure whilst it was raining something which we do not have to do very often.

The trip from Peterborough to the Flinders Ranges was in rain.  Actually the drive was not all that bad with the only concern being the wash from large vehicles as they passed in the opposite direction.

We stopped at Hawker for morning tea and arrived at Rawnsley Park Station close to midday.  This was our third visit here and the second time we arrived in rain.  Fortunately the grave road into the caravan park is very well used and was solid.

We did have a warning alarm sound on arrival indicating a problem with the caravan breakaway system.  This has happened before and was thought to have been resolved when the caravan was last serviced.  It will not be a problem.

We had booked several months ago and were assigned four adjacent sites close to the camp kitchen and amenities block.

We had a quiet afternoon looking at the one television channel available in the area.

We joined our fellow travellers for happy hour in the camp kitchen before we all retired for our evening meals.  It was cold outside and we were still experiencing showers.
