“He” had not slept well due to the noise from the air conditioning so our normal 7:00am alarm pose no problem in getting up.
With two of our friends, “He” had planned to take empty gas bottles to the Darwin BCF store for refills. “He” also planned to reinflate the tyres on the Navara following the lowering of the pressure when the car was serviced.
At 8:30am the deed was done. Tyres were inflated, the refills from BCF done at a cost of $22.99 for a 9kg bottle (the cheapest we have found since leaving Sydney) and the staff were very friendly. Whilst out, another quick visit was made to Anaconda to “have another look”.
We headed into the city after returning from BCF. “She” wanted to have a look for a pearl. After spending time in Paspaley, “She” walked out with a nice new pearl pendant.
We returned to our camp and had a quiet afternoon before being joined by other friends (we met them on this trip) and all of the members of our group. We celebrated a birthday (a little in advance) for one of our friends. Unfortunately due to medical reasons, they are leaving us to remain in Darwin for some tests later in the week. They might catch us somewhere in Western Australia.
Tomorrow will be sad having to say goodbye. The goodbye will be to our friends and also the wonderful city of Darwin. Except for the heat, one could very easily move here.
