26 July 2016 – Karratha to Nanutarra Roadhouse WA

Another day to relocate further down the Western Australia cost.  We were up at 7:00am and heading south just after 9:00am.

We encountered wind interference for most of the way but fortunately there was only a small increase in overall consumption.

Today we saw what must have been some of the best scenery we have encountered on this trip.  The landscape is red from what we assume is from the presence of iron ore and the landscape is both barren and lush.  There was one spot in particular where there was a backdrop of a mountain and the foreground was green and black with wild flowers everywhere.

We arrived at the roadhouse at lunchtime and after waiting in a queue for diesel fuel, we were on our booked sites.  We elected not to connect to water.

Relatives of two members of our group arrived late in the afternoon.  They are joining us for part of the remaining part of our trip to Perth.

We also meet a couple of sisters who were setting up a tent and also a lone bike rider.  Both the sisters and the bike rider joined us for tea.

Today we had a BBQ for our evening meal which we ate outside under lights.

Without television or satellite television, we had an early night.  The evening was very cool.
