29 July 2016 – Carnarvon WA

“He” was up early enough to see a wonderful sunrise over the tropical setting adjacent to our caravan park.

We left the caravan park just after 9:30am with our friends and did the “tourist” thing around Carnarvon.

First stop was a cruise through the shopping precinct (there are two supermarkets, three hardware stores, several motor dealers, hotels, several caravan parks and some other shops).  We stopped at the marina and took some pictures of the bay adjacent to the entrance of the Gascoyne River with the Indian Ocean.  Later we paid a visit to the Carnarvon Jetty which runs for a mile out into the Indian Ocean.  We had a ride on the Coffee Pot Train.  The jetty is an historic site that is being maintained from monies raised by walking on the Jetty (a $5 fee applies) or by riding on the train ($10 for adults).

We enjoyed morning tea at the jetty before some shopping at a hardware store.

“He” and a friend played lawns bowls in the afternoon and then we enjoyed our happy hour.  We enjoyed kababs for our evening meal before retiring for the night.
