We had a comfortable night and slept very well until our alarm sounded at 7:00am. It is amazing how much better the night is when the caravan is warm when you go to bed. Yesterday the internal temperature when we awoke was 1 degree, today is was 3 degrees.
We started the air conditioning but the unit made unfamiliar noises so we turned it off after assuming that is could not cope with the outside temperature. As expected, our fresh water hose was frozen but we had water in a container that was used for coffee. Once the
Temperature rose a couple of degrees, the air conditioning worked fine.
We had intended to head to Bathurst today and stop overnight at the free camp where our trip started from. As a result of the extremely cold temperature and the known situation with water and mud in the free camp from recent rain, we had decided yesterday to spend a further day in Cowra before heading to our final overnight stop closer to home.
That decision allowed us to start our day slowly and have a relaxed breakfast and then the opportunity to obtain email before dressing for the day.
We really didn’t have any plans for the day other than relaxing and “He” wanted to have a look in the Cowra RM Williams store to see if he could find a pair of boots. Our friends were after a couple of things so we provided the transport.
After a stop at Repco and Bunnings (“He” was delighted to find a Bunnings in Cowra), we parked and headed to the RM Williams store. Whilst they had a good range of boots, “He” did not find something that meet his requirements.
We went into a camping store and found a new table, it is a bit smaller than what we currently use, and we also found a shade that we will install to protect our refrigerator.
Returning to the caravan park we had lunch and then “He” repacked the back of the Nissan. We also did some internal cleaning of the Nissan but we need access to a good vacuum cleaner to remove the dirt from the past three months.
Later in the afternoon we continued playing sequence. The score is now 21 to 6 in favour of the boys.
Not wanting to be near an open fire that is lit daily in the caravan park, we retired early for our evening meal whilst “He” watched the Sydney Swans beat Richmond.
Tomorrow is the penultimate day of our trip and we will relocate close to Sydney and return home on Monday morning.
