On another fine and delightful day, we departure at 9:00am heading towards the north and West Wyalong.
Our route took us over roads that were showing the results of the recent rain and again we came to the conclusion that the road repairs would take time to complete.
We stopped in Rankin Springs intending to have coffee and there was nothing available so we continued our trip heading to the east and our destination of West Wyalong.
Our stay in West Wyalong would be in the showgrounds / racetrack.
After meeting the caretaker, we were given the opportunity to park anywhere we like as there were numerous power outlets and heaps of space. There was only one other RV on site.
We chose spots close to the amenities (a newly refurbished block that would have done most caravan parks proud) and were soon setup hoked to both power and water.
After lunch we headed to the township of Wyalong and looked for a church where we had attended a wedding in the late 70’s. We could not find the church.
We stopped in West Wyalong at what must be one of the best IGS’s we have ever seen in Australia. Not only were the prices very reasonable, the store was very well stocked.
We returned to our campsite for happy hour which we followed with a BBQ for tea. The group enjoyed music late into the evening.
