30 October 2016 – West Wyalong to Junee NSW

We departed West Wyalong early for our shortish drive to our next stop at Junee.  The drive was very pleasant and again we saw evidence of the massive rainfall experienced earlier in the month.  Overall the road conditions were not all that bad.

We drove through Temora with intentions to stop for coffee but there was nowhere to park so we continued through to Junee.  The weather was overcast and a little cool.

Due to our early arrival at June, we were not able to get into the caravan park so we went to the Junee Licorice and Chocolate Factory.  We enjoyed coffee before undertaking the factory tour.  We were lucky in that the tour was free for us having been recent visitors to the factory site.

We did make a few purchases in the store at the factory.

After gaining entry to the caravan park and the large grassy site that had been allocated to our group, we did a quick setup.  We did experience some light rain.

Later in the day we shopped at the local IGA and then had a quiet afternoon in the campsite before we were collected by a bus from one of the local hotels.

We had a wonderful dinner in the Red Cow Hotel.

Whilst waiting for the bus to return us to the caravan park, we experience a storm and very heavy rain.  Junee was on the edge of the system so it was hard to imagine the amount of rain experience by locations to the north of the town.

By the time we arrived back at our camp, the cloud had started to part and stars were visible in the sky.  The temperature was cool so a good night to sleep was ensured.
