31 October 2016 – Junee NSW

With little planned for today, we were up a later than our usual 7:00am rise.

One of our group had decided to host a bacon & egg breakfast so we all gathered in the camp kitchen.  With help from all, we soon had a wonderful breakfast underway with the food enjoyed by all.

After breakfast, we headed into Junee with our first stop at the local bakery where we purchased some fresh bread and vanilla slices for consumption later in the day.

Next we paid a visit to the railway station where we learnt that there were two XPT services stopping later in the day.

“He” was able to find a pair of Blundstone boots in the Junee hardware store and with the cost of just over $120.00, they were perfect.  Initially the plan had been to purchase a pair of  R M Williams boots but following a price rise and a cost of around the $500 mark, they were a little expensive.  $120 was exceptionally reasonable and the boots are exactly what “He” was after.

We had lunch in the café at the railway station and then waited for the two train services to arrive.

After taking video of the train arrivals and departures, we headed to the Junee

Roundhouse where we had a tour of the facility and the relics stored there.  This historic museum is one of the better collections of railway artefacts that we have seen.

We stopped again at the Junee Licorice and Chocolate Factory before returning to our camp site for happy hour which was followed by hamburgers for tea.

We had a quiet evening.
