20 April 2017 – Kerang to Bendigo VIC

We had another good sleep in our camping spot adjacent to our friend’s home.  We were ready to depart by 9:00am having decided to head to Bendigo where we believe there is enough to amuse us if the heavy predicted rain over the coming days eventuates.

After thanking our friends for their hospitality, we paid a quick visit to the local dump point and then refuelled.

We then called a caravan park located close to the Bendigo CBD only to find out they were heavily booked but had space available in their “overflow”.  We then contacted our second choice, a caravan park located about 15k’s from Bendigo.  They had space so we booked for four nights.

The trip to Bendigo was quick but we used more than our average fuel burn due to some strong cross winds.

After waiting a short time for the caravan owner to return apparently from a quick visit to their child’s school, we were soon setup on a large site that we were able to drive onto.  Actually, we have been given three sites as the park owner does not expect to have to use the other two sites over the weekend.

We went grocery shopping in the afternoon and shouted ourselves some seafood and chicken for our evening meal.

It was dry when we went to bed but the BOM has issued a severe weather warning for the part of Victoria we are currently in.
