16 October 2017 – Bingara NSW

Day one of the official part of the muster.  The weather forecast last night was for morning showers but we awoke to a fine sunny day with patchy cloud.

We attended the opening ceremony and then spent time enjoying morning tea with other attendees.

Returning to our caravan just before lunch, we took the car and drove into Bingara and stopped at the bakery and purchased homemade pies for lunch.  After lunch, we drove to a lookout that overlooks the Bingara township and provides expansive views of the countryside to the south and north.  The road to the lookout is very narrow and provides you will the challenge of a steep ascent and the descent.

We refuelled before returning to our campsite.

We had several rain showers during the afternoon but that did not stop us attending a happy hour with people from other branches.

“He” flew the quad copter late in the afternoon and took pictures just before sunset.

We had a very late evening meal and then watched a little television before heading to bed.

The temperature is currently in the mid 20’s and cools to the mid-teens overnight.  We have had the caravan vents opened and that has maintained a comfortable temperature in the caravan.  We have however had high winds but at this point in time, we have not had to drop our awning.
