21 October 2017 – Bingara NSW

When we went to bed, it was not raining and it remained that way until 5:55am when heavy rain started.  The rain was accompanied with wind and the noise made it a little difficult to return to sleep.

The rain had stopped by 7:30am. Today was the penultimate day of our muster and most of the activities were in the afternoon.  A sheep dog display was planned for the morning but the rain yesterday and overnight together with the forecast saw that event cancelled.

We started the day slowly by having our first “sleep in” for this trip and possibly the longest “sleep in” since we have had an RV.  We got up just before 9:00am.

We took our time having breakfast and doing a clean-up and were in our car leaving the campsite just after 10:30am.

We shopped in the local IGA before stopping at a small gift shop that was full of gems.  We purchased a small painting and something for our grandniece.

After returning to our campsite, “He” unpacked the rear of our ute and removed most of the dust accumulated during this trip.

“He” attended a meeting early in the afternoon and then we both attended a presentation by Phil Murray, the son of Gelignite Jack Murray (Google him, he was an iconic Australian sportsman).   This was followed by our AGM.

We attended a dinner dance in the evening in the large marquee.  The meal was excellent.  After the meal, a band played until 11:40pm.  We stayed until 11:30pm having a great night listening and singing to the music being played.  It was an eye opener watching all our us “oldies” letting our hair down and having a good time.

We were in bed well after midnight.
