26 October 2017 – Cudgegong (Lake Windamere) NSW

We were awake before the alarm sounded but remained in bed until 7:00am.

We had no plans today other than relaxing.  Breakfast was leisurely after which “He” made several trips to a fresh water tank to refill our water supply.  On the second trip, our 10 litre foldable water container sprung a leak.  “He” borrowed another one and completed the filling of our tanks.

It was at this time that one of our friends had the idea to stage a photo shoot of emptying our toilet cassettes.  This idea evolved into all of the guys getting their cassettes and then posing for a series of pictures.  We had fun for about 30 minutes after which the pictures were reduced in size and placed into a Word document that will be sent to the ACC for publication in the ACC magazine, “The Nomad”.

The rest of the morning was spent talking to our friends.  “He” took the cameras and took pictures of several of our group spending time on the lake in a couple of kayaks.

The afternoon was quiet and we had another long happy hour after which we returned to our caravan and cooked tea.  The forecast had been for storms and showers but neither eventuated.

We joined three other couples for dinner.

We were enjoying a talk after dinner when out of the blue came a strong gust of wind.  That was followed by continuous gusts of wind, so strong that plates were thrown off the tables.  In record time, we all packed up and retreated to our caravans.  The wind was what you would expect before a storm, however, the stars were still shining.

The strength of the wind did force us to pack up and stow our satellite dish before it was picked up and forced into the side of our caravan.  The wind storm continued and we noticed lightning all around us when we looked out of our door at 9:30pm.  We also had some light rain at that time.

Without television, we had an early night.  Tomorrow we have to take the car back to Mudgee to have the sensor replaced.
