Neither of us slept well as it was difficult to cater with blankets etc for the overnight temperature. “He” also forgot to set the alarm so it was a little after 7:00am when we realised what the time way.
Today the plan was to visit a motor museum at Kembla Grange and with a planned departure time of 10:00am, we were under no hurry. We both showered and “He” had time to make a visit to Bulli Beach with the intention of trying to see if there were any whales heading south alongside the beach. Unfortunately, there were none but we are aware that there are whales not far further south than our current location.
We left just after 10:00am and did the trip to the motor museum in convoy.
The Australian Motorlife Museum is a non for profit organisation that consists of 100+ members volunteer their time or loan their vehicles to the museum. The museum has also been able to purchase several vehicles in its own right. The museum is housed in a massive building and is very impressive. The NRMA was a sponsor but sign indicate that the sponsorship has ceased. We spent well over an hour looking at the displays.
Today we provided transport for another couple and as we left the museum, we all agreed to head back into Wollongong and have lunch at a café or the like. “He” managed to miss two turns on our return journey but fortunately we did know where we were.
We found a small café (the Aqua Restaurant located on Cliff Road) where we enjoyed a nice lunch. The price was also very reasonable.
We returned to the caravan mid afternoon and “He” flew our new DJI “Spark” quad copter for the first time. We have purchased the quad for a future trip where carry capacity and space will be limited. Compared with our DJI Phantom, this quad is extremely small however, it performs very well even in strong winds. “He” shot several videos today and we are delighted with the quality of the vision.
Our group shared another happy hour later in the afternoon and we all returned to our caravans around 6:40pm for our evening meals. We had some kebabs that needed to be used and they were very enjoyable.
