As we have stated before, we live in the inner west of Sydney and as a result of the early start to the afternoon traffic peak, a local school and a narrow street where we live, we need to return home well before 1:00pm (at the absolute latest) to make sure we can have the caravan parked in our driveway.
Knowing that our drive today would take about 3.5 hours, we set our latest departure time from Currarong at 9:15am. Knowing that the process to say our “goodbyes” would take time, we started that process at 8:30am.
Fortunately, we did depart close to our intended time on what was a very pleasant day and a day where the wind would not impact on our fuel consumption.
Just after leaving Currarong, we saw one of the other couples stopped on the side of the road. They were waving at us so we found a spot to stop thinking that they needed assistance. They didn’t need assistance, they had stopped to wave goodbye. This couple followed us until the Picton turnoff where we again waved our goodbyes.
“He” has been concerned with the performance of the Navara and was actually dreading the climb up Mt Ousley. The vehicle didn’t have any problem but “He” is not convinced there is an underlying problem. Fortunately, the car will be serviced before our next trip so we can have the performance addressed.
We hit rain just to the north of Wollongong and drove in the rain until Bankstown.
We arrived home just before 12:30pm and were lucky in that the parked vehicles in our street did not hinder the process to return the caravan into the drive. All in all, we had a safe drive on this trip and an enjoyable week away. The caravan will remain in our drive until our next trip which we expect to take place in February.
