We were not sure when we would actually leave home to head to Wagga Wagga for the annual Stone the Crows Festival but a death in the family delayed our intended departure by probably a day.
As it transpired, “He” would be tasked with moving the caravan from our home to our intended camp site at Wagga Wagga whilst “She” remained behind to attend the funeral.
With the caravan packed with clothing and very little food, “He” departed our home at 9:00am with the intention of travelling through to Wagga Wagga rather than stopping at our initially planned overnight stop at Jugiong.
There is little to record about the trip south other than flat batteries in our Spot device (“He” had to purchase new batteries whilst enroute), the service station where “He” intended to refuel had restricted access so further k’s had to be driven before refuelling was able to be performed.
Another stop was made at Gundagai where some food and drinks were purchased. The stop was also used to refuel the car with sufficient fuel for our stay in the Wagga Wagga region.
The expected travel time was about 6 hours and “He” arrived at the destination just after 3:00pm. The trip south had been uneventful and “He” was happy with the overall fuel consumption by the Nissan Navara.
With access to the intended final camping site not available until later tomorrow, the caravan was parked in a field adjacent to the festival site and the car unhitched.
After saying the usual “hello” to friends that had not been seen for the past 12 months, happy hour was enjoyed before “He” joined other close friends for the evening meal. With only battery power available, “He” watched television for a short time before heading to bed.
It had been a long day.
