We slept well. The temperature was kind to us, and the noise generated by the waves on the nearby beach contributed towards to ambience of our location.
We were up just after 7:00am and ready to depart at 9:30am for a visit to the Fleet Air Arm Museum at the HMAS Albatross Air Base which is located just to the south of Nowra.
Entry cost us $10 each and was worth every cent of the fee as this is one of the better museums we have visited. The museum was established in 1974 and is now the home of more than 30 aircraft that showcase the history of the air arm of the Royal Australian Navy. We spent about 1.5 hours looking at the displays and we also watched several videos that were being played.
Leaving the museum just before midday, we visited three establishments trying to obtain a replacement cap for our fresh water tank. No one was able to help us. Later in the afternoon we would learn that the dealer from where we purchased our caravan has the caps in stock and two caps have been reserved for us.
We did a little shopping in Nowra before enjoying a Subway lunch.
Before returning to the caravan park, we did a little sightseeing around the Culburra Beach area stopping at a lookout at Penguins Head Road Reserve and then at Crookhaven. The area is beautiful, and many pictures were snapped.
After returning to the caravan park, “He” replaced our “good” cap on the water tank and sealed the second opening to stop any foreign matter from entering the tank.
We enjoyed happy hour with our group and then everyone got together for a communal meal.
We were back in the caravan just before 9:00pm where we enjoyed a cup of coffee before doing our evening cleanup following the cooking of the kebabs and salad that we enjoyed for our evening meal.
