15 April 2019 – Sydney to Jugiong NSW
We were due to arrive in Wagga Wagga (south western NSW) early on Tuesday morning so an overnight stop was planned at Jugiong, a popular free camp located between Yass and Gundagai just off the Hume Highway in south western NSW. Jugiong is just over 100k’s from our final destination and an easy 1.5 hour drive on Tuesday morning.
We departed our home just after 9:00am and due to the lack of traffic in our street, we had a very easy exit from our driveway. When we owned the Nova caravan, we were never presented with the opportunities for an easy departure that we have experienced since owning the Adria caravan.
We experienced very little traffic through to Sutton Forrest where we stopped for an early lunch. Next stop was made in Yass for shopping at Woolworths and BWS and then we refueled at the Caltex Service Centre on the Highway at Yass. We could have made Wagga Wagga on our remaining fuel but decided that purchasing fuel now would mean that we would not have to look for fuel when we arrived in Wagga Wagga. When we owned the Nova caravan, we could not make Wagga Wagga without refueling.
We arrived at Jugiong in the middle of the afternoon and met (we actually stopped to camp beside them) other members from our caravan club. We spent the remainder of the afternoon talking with them before having chicken and salad for our evening meal. After the long drive, we were both tired and eager to have an early night. We were also unsure about the amount of power we have from our single battery so a night watching television was not an option until we have further intelligence on battery power usage.
