26 April 2019 – Wagga Wagga to Jugiong NSW

We were up at our usual time (6:20am) to prepare for departure.

“He” discovered an issue with a cupboard and could not find screws to fix the cupboard.  As we were tasked with returning the courtesy car, we had the opportunity to visit Bunnings and purchase some small screws.  Unfortunately, “He” was unable to fix the problem but made a repair that will suffice until a proper solutions toon can be found.

We departed Wagga Wagga just after midday and headed to South Gundagai where we stopped at McDonalds for lunch.  We have never been fond of McDonalds South Gundagai as every time we have called there in the past, something has not been working. Based on these previous experiences, we were prepared to give them another chance.  Unfortunately, they were not up to expectation as the machine used to produce shakes was not working.  Surprise, surprise, surprise.

Leaving McDonalds were refueled at the nearby Shell service station and then purchased lunch at Hungry Jacks.  The meal was excellent and definitely better than what we would have had at McDonalds.

Leaving Gundagai, we continued to Jugiong and parked close to the couple we had met at Jugiong on the way down.

“He” repackaged our vehicle and then we both managed to close our eyes until sunset.  Intending to eat at the local hotel, we called on our friends and ended up sitting in their caravan taking until 8:00pm.  We didn’t have a meal at the hotel, but we did have ham sandwiches for our meal.

With the overnight temperature forecast to be 0 degrees, we took the opportunity to test the insulation of the caravan as well as the effectiveness of our bedding.  Expecting a cold night, we were in bed just after 9:00pm.  It was cold.
