The alarm sounded at 6:00am and we vacated our warm bed to be treated by another lovely Canberra day. Whilst the temperature was low, the sun took away the chill.
We departed the caravan park around 8:15am and made a quick exit out of Canberra.
Nearing Lake George, we encountered heavy fog and had to reduce our speed for safety. The fog lasted about 20 minutes and we were able to resume our n or mal cruising speed just before we joined the Hume Highway to the west of Goulburn.
The remainder of the trip was uneventful with the density of the traffic increasing just after passing Mittagong. Today we drove part of the way home into a head wind and that reflected in only a small increase in fuel consumption. We are using a couple of litres less every 100k’s with the smaller caravan and some places that required a fuel stop to get there are now well in the range of our fuel tanks.
When departing Canberra, our GPS estimated an arrival time at home of 11:55am, we arrived at 11:53am having driven through without a stop.
We are able to reverse the caravan into our drive without any problems and knowing we had to return to the dealer later in the week, we left everything connected.
This had been a good trip and “He” is very happy with the towing performance of the caravan. There is very little movement when passed by trucks and the caravan was stable when buffeted by cross winds on the return journey. Now, if only we can get the water leak resolved
