The couple that we were surprised to have met left Lightning Ridge today. We said our farewells at 9:30am before heading out with our other friends to tour the district. Lightning Ridge has what they call the “Car Door” tours where you follow painted car doors marked with numbers. For a dollar, you get a mud map and guide from the Information Centre.
Today with followed three of the four tours, taking the time to take many photographs and “He” had the opportunity for a long drone flight over one of the opal fields shooting both stills and video.
Returning to the caravan in the late afternoon, we enjoyed another performance from Mel & Susie during happy hour.
With the temperature rapidly dropping, we decided to have our evening meal in the comfort of the caravan, and we stayed inside until heading to bed, again a little later than planned.
