There was no change in the weather when we poked our head out of the caravan door at 7:00am.

Today we attended the Annual General Meeting of the Australian Caravan Club.  With plans to attend a canon firing at Flagstaff Hill after the AGM, we elected to drive.

The AGM went as expected and returning to our car we discovered that we had parked in an area that was subject to parking fees.  For some reason we had assumed that there were no parking fees on Saturday, we were wrong.  There was no evidence that the parking police had booked us, but time will only tell if an infringement notice appears in the mail.

After the AGM we stopped for coffee at a recommended café and met the people who are the hosts of the 2020 National Muster.

Just before midday, we drove to Flagstaff Hill to watch the canon firing.

We walked to the site of the firing but when we were hit by horizonal rain include what felt like ice, we decided to abandon our plans and departed.  Later we learnt that the firing had been delayed by about 40 minutes and those who waited were very wet.

Before returning to the caravan park, we drove to Stingray Bay and the foreshore lookouts.

The sea was extremely heavy, and we can understand why so many ships came to grief along this coastal region.

Later in the afternoon we discussed the GPS functions with friend then had a long talk.  We had met this friend shortly after we acquired our first caravan as they had said hello to us when we were camped at Alice Springs.  We have been friends since then.

At 4:30pm we were transported by coach to a local high school which was the venue for a dinner dance.

The food was good, and we returned on the 9:40pm bus.  Today we went to bed well after 11:00pm.
