With our trip nearing the end, today we started to head in the direction of Sydney.
Deciding to travel to Orange by backroads, we departed the Newell Highway near Western Plains Zoo where we noticed a field that was home to a large number of kangaroos. We are not sure, but they may have been there due to the close proximity to the zoo.
Our trip on the backroads was us travel through dust clouds that ensured we had no opportunity to see the surrounding countryside. We experienced a very heavy rain shower that lasted for about two minutes.
We stopped at the A B Paterson Museum at Yeoval and spent time exploring the collection.
We had our lunch in Molong at a café.
Due to our latish arrival in Orange, we missed all of the bad weather experienced by locations to the east of us. After our arrival at the caravan park, we reunited with another couple who had not come with us to Dubbo.
The weather had change quite significantly since Dubbo with a big drop in temperature.
We purchased our evening meal from a pizza shop and decided that the pizza was close to being the best we have ever eaten. The shop in question is called Pizza Capers and is recommended.
We watched television until late. The caravan was very comfortable.
With the overnight temperature expected to be 3 degrees, we knew that we would have a very good night’s sleep.
