Other than a day trip to Penrith to have the caravan services, we have not used the caravan since early December 2019.

We had planned to travel with members of our caravan club earlier this year to the NSW South Coasted as specifically to the areas that were impacted by the fires earlier in the year.  COVID put a stop to that until now.

We left home just after 9:00am and headed south through Bankstown and then  onto the Princess Highway at Heathcote for the drive south to Burrill Lake.

In light traffic, we had a sedate drive to just short of Kiama where we stopped for a short break.  During this stop “He” noticed that our refrigerator had not maintained the temperature that we observed when we left Sydney.  This was a problem we thought had been fixed when a narrow-gauge wire was replaced with a heavier wire.  To keep the refrigerator cool, we decided to continue the trip with the refrigerator running off gas.

We detoured through Berry to have a look at the facilities at the Showground (we are heading there next week), before continuing south to South Nowra where we stopped for lunch.

We arrived at our destination at the Big 4, Bungalow Park at Burrill Lake (just past Ulladulla) just after 2:00pm. It took about an hour to setup as many of the tasks seemed to be foreign as almost a year has elapsed since the caravan has been located on a camp site.

We renewed acquaintances with the group members, we have 15 RV’s attending, before the group met for happy hour.  We attended a communal evening meal before retiring for the night.   Yesterday it was about 41 in Sydney, today the temperature is about 21.  What a change.
