We departed our home at 8:50am and in light traffic, drove to Medlow Bath where we stopped to top up fuel.
With the ACC National Muster not far away, we checked the Lithgow Showground for repair work on the ballroom that will be focal point for our event. We then stopped at the Visitor Information Centre to collect information for this trip.
Returning to the car from the VIS, “He” noticed that the gas had failed to start for the refrigerator. With the car engine running, the refrigerator was returned to battery power and appeared to operate normally.
When we arrived at Bathurst, we attempted without any luck to find a gas refiller rather than a gas bottle swap. Eventually a visit to the VIS resulted in us returning to Kelso and BCF where we obtained a refill. We then stopped at Jaycar to purchase a replacement battery for a sensor we use to determine the gas level in the active bottle.
Deciding not to stop for lunch in Bathurst, we drove through to camp site arriving at 1:45pm.
Just before arriving at Macquarie Woods, we had radio contact with one of our participants who had missed the turn to our c amp site. We provided directions and caught up with the participant when we arrived at the entry point to our camp site.
Six of our eight participants started this trip from Macquarie Woods.
We renewed acquaintances in the afternoon before Ron C made a damper for us all the share.
“He” tested our portable solar panel during the afternoon, and it managed to recharge our portable lithium battery. “He” was happy.
We returned to our caravan before dark to escape the cold. We had “almost toasted sandwiched” for teas.
We retreated to our bed before 8:00pm to escape the cold.
