We both slept well and were ready to depart for our morning adventure by 9:00am.
This morning we had booked a morning tea at “A Hidden Gem” which is as property built by the artist, John Murray. He sold the property to Susie a couple of years ago. Mel & Susie host a tour of this unique property and that is followed by coffee, scones cream and jam and a short show. Everyone enjoyed the experience which cost us $25 per head.
Returning to the shops in Lightning Ridge, we stopped at John Murray ‘s studio and purchased a painting.
After lunch we invited friends to join us on a trip to a lookout at the site of the first shaft that was drilled at Lightning Ridge. There is a lookout at this site, and it gave us a great view of the green landscape resultant of the massive recent rainfall.
The remainder of the afternoon was quiet, and “He” was able to watch some of the Swans versus Collingwood game before going to tea at the Lightning Ridge Bowling Club. We needed to join the club to use the facilities and the joining fee of $3 is returned to you in the form of a $3 drink voucher.
We had previously arranged to meet another director of the ACC for dinner, so it was good to be able to demonstrate to him the friendship within our group.
After returning to the caravan park, we watched a special on Olivia Newton John before heading to bed around 10:30pm.
