13 October 2023 – Hahndorf to Goolwa SA

The alarm sounded at 7:00am and for once, we decided not to sleep for another 30 minutes.

With 60 kilometres to travel and a planned arrival after 1:00pm at the Australian Caravan Club National Muster, we were in no hurry to get away.  That said, we departed the caravan park by 9:40pm after programming our destination into our GPS.  The GPS stated our arrival would be at 10:30am so “He” decided to call the organiser of the National Muster to see if we could arrive early.  Much to our surprise, we were informed that the organising staff were sitting around doing nothing as no one had arrived.  We were encouraged to arrive as soon as possible.

Our GPS took us on a beautiful trip through the back roads to Goolwa where we arrived at 10:40am.  We were greeted by the organising staff and many of the members of our branch who were volunteering at the event.

After doing a basic setup, we drove into Goolwa and shopped at Woolworths, purchasing food to cover us for the next couple of days.

Returning to our campsite, we enjoyed a seafood salad sandwich for lunch.  Our setup was completed shortly afterwards, and we spent the remainder of the afternoon catching up with members of our branch and several other people we know through the caravan club.

A vendor arrived on site selling pizza, so we enjoyed a BBQ chicken pizza for tea.

We have issues in getting the commercial television channels with good reception for all except channel 7 which is the primary station we watch.  We believe we have the antenna pointed in the correct direction but no channel 7.

We were both tired and retired just after 9:00pm.  We expected the night to be warm.
