15 October 2023 – Goolwa SA

The alarm sounded at 7:00am and we stayed for another 10 minutes before rising.

It had rained overnight but whilst there was cloud around, the sun was shining on our location.

After breakfast, “He” grabbed a camera and went for a walk taking photographs of the caravan park.  The opportunity was taken to locate several other members including the ACC Chairman and an incoming Board member.  “He” also spoke with the park manager about using the drone to take a picture of the park.

Later in the morning we drove into Goolwa and visited the produce markets.  The Cockle Train was running today with a steam engine pulling four carriages so more pictures and video were taken.  The markets were small compared to Sydney but there was a good variety of products.

We returned to our camp site for lunch.

Today the weather forecast was accurate as by the time we were ready to leave for our opening ceremony, it was raining consistently.  We decided to drive to the venue which was located outside the caravan park.  The opening ceremony went smoothly and after an hour we returned in light rain to our caravan.

“He” was tasked in getting an SMS messaging system working and when we left for a cooked steak sandwich, “He” was totally frustrated with the system.  Due to the weather, we returned to our caravan to eat our evening meal and shortly afterwards, “He” found a workaround with the SMS system.

Arrangements were made to demonstrate the SMS system and the workaround and whilst “He” was waiting for a call to attend the office, we stopped and spoke with friends from Queensland.

The SMS system worked, and everyone was happy.

We returned to the caravan and watched the episode of “The Block” that we had recorded. With the wind howling around us, we were in bed just after 10:00pm
