As a result of the late night yesterday, we set the alarm for 7:30am.

With no commitments until after lunch, we had a slow start to the day only being disturbed by several text message containing details of a proposed dinner with other members of our branch.  Later in the morning, we had a trip to Woolworths where we purchase a seafood salad for lunch and other groceries to cover us until we reach Melbourne at the end of the following week.

Before we had the opportunity to eat lunch, another ACC Director, who flew in from Sydney, arrived.  After arranging for their hired car to be admitted to the site, we all enjoyed sandwiches for lunch.

Later in the afternoon, “He” was involved in a meeting of Branch members and that was followed by a Board meeting.   Just prior to the start of the first meeting, the wind increases in velocity, and we were informed that a weather alert had been issued for wind up to 75 kph.  “He” returned to our caravan and stowed the television antenna whilst many of those attending the event took down their awnings.

Arrangements had been made for our branch to have dinner at a hotel but yesterday, members of our branch stopped at the local RSL and were convinced that we consider changing our venue to the club.  A series of SMS messages mentioned earlier resulted in our group agreeing to make the change as we would be supporting a struggling club.

We were told to arrive early and order our meals as the club would be busy.  They had a very simple menu and we ordered shortly after arriving at 5:25pm.

Two hours after our table of eight ordered meals, questions were asked as to where our food was.  Others who arrived after us had been served and we soon were told that our order had been lost.  We were then told that some of the items on the menu were no longer available and most of those sitting on our table agreed to alternate meals.  The club president was very apologetic and offered us free drinks (a bottle of cheap wine was provided) as well as free deserts.  The meals finally appeared and then we were offered a free desert at a cost of $5 each.  We were not impressed.

We returned to our caravan where we had ice cream four our desert and that was followed by a quiet night.

At the time we went to bed, the wind had abated.  We expect the wind to return overnight or early in the morning.
