22 October 2023 – Goolwa SA

The last day of the National Muster.

With the closing ceremony taking place at 9:00am, we were up at 6:45am.

With the wind still strong and a desire to purchase fuel, we drove to the closing ceremony.

After the conclusion of the closing, we had coffee in Goolwa with friends from QLD before refuelling and returning to the camp site for a sausage sizzle at midday.  Whilst in Goolwa we purchased some microwave meals that we accidentally left in the car until the middle of the afternoon.

We had a quiet afternoon before joining other members of our branch for a final happy hour in the camp kitchen which, until today, had been dominated at happy hour by members from another state.  They arrived a little later and seems to be disappointed that they could not occupy the space.

Being conscious of the fact we had left cooled food in the car, we decided to consume the chicken meal for tea and fortunately there was no issue with spoilage.

We retired well before 11:00pm.
