We set the alarm for 7:30am and were out of bed about 15 minutes later. It was warm today. Knowing that we were going out for lunch, we had the entire morning to finish breakfast and dress for lunch.
Knowing that other members of our branch who were not attending the muster were coming to lunch, we decided to leave the caravan park at 11:15am to travel to Swansea to have an early catchup. We were looking forward to seeing very close friends who we had not seen for many months.
Unfortunately, the Swansea RSL would not allow a booking for our number of people, however, they did make a room available on the first level. Unfortunately, we had to purchase drinks downstairs and transport to our upstairs room and the same applied to food. “He” managed to trip when bring up our lunch and may have caused further trauma to an already sore left knee. The club staff were really good in checking for injuries and our lunch was replaced quickly.
A group of “older people” being placed into this situation was poor on behalf of the club. We were also joined by several other branch members who travelled to Swansea for our lunch.
Returning to our campsite, we had another long happy hour which started just before 4:00pm for us and ended for us when we returned to our caravan just after 7:00pm. Having enjoyed a cooked lunch at the Swansea RSL, we choose to have ham and coleslaw wraps that “He” claimed was the best meal since leaving home.
We watched Australian Survivor and then NCIS Hawaii before heading to bed on what would turn out to be a very hot and uncomfortable night. We placed the air conditioning into fan mode but if the humidity remains the same, we will leave the air conditioning on cool tomorrow night.
