18 July 2024 – Canberra ACT to Ebden VIC

Our alarm sound at 7:00am and it took us 10 minutes to extract ourselves from under our blankets.

Leaving the caravan to heads to the amenities block, we were greeted by a thick fog.  We would see this fog until we passed Gundagai on our way south.

We left the caravan park about 9:45am and once we programmed the GPS with our destination, we were heading towards the Hume Highway at Yass and a fuel stop.  Being unsure about the range after our 120k’s yesterday, we decided that a full tank of fuel would be a wise and sensible move.

We stopped at Tarcutta for lunch, bread rolls with curried egg (packed earlier today) plus coffee from a café.  We had lunch in the caravan.

Leaving Tarcutta, we had a sedate drive through to Albury where we left the highway and headed towards Lake Hume and our overnight stop.  Crossing the Murray River into Victoria near the Lake Hume Village, a few minutes later we arrived at the Discovery Park Lake Hume Caravan Park where we had booked a site with an ensuite.  Our site was located on the edge of Lake Hume which is currently well down on water level.  We managed to stay hitched, and our initial reaction was that we will be happy at this location.

Our setup was quick, and we positioned the door on the caravan very close to the entry door to the ensuite.

Frozen meals for our evening meal that were good enough that we will buy them again.

We watched television for a little while (three episodes of Home and Away followed by FBI), we didn’t run any heater, and the caravan was sitting at 16.4 degrees when we finally went to bed.
