Our trip today would take about 3.5 hours, and our GPS offered 3 different routes.
With the caravan remaining hitched, it didn’t take long to ready our combination for travel. Planning to depart at 9:00am, we raised the departure gate at about 10 seconds before 9:00am.
We did not have sufficient fuel to reach Melbourne so with the use of “Google” and the Petrol Spy App, we located fuel at a reasonable price in Wodonga.
Joining the Hume Freeway shortly afterwards, we started the final part of the southbound journey.
We kept our speed at around the 100kph mark and that move resulted in the computer in the car indicating our fuel consumption was around the 15 litres per 100k’s. We were contacted by the driver of a truck letting us know that our left-hand indicator on the caravan was not working. We stopped at a rest stop and reseated the connector. When we return to Sydney, we need to fix this problem as the connector has not really been right since day 1 of the Adria.
We eventually found our way to the Crystal Book Tourist Park where we had booked a site with an ensuite. With rain approaching and gusty winds already being experienced, we eventually found a sweet spot to park the caravan to minimise the amount of mud we had to negotiate on our site. The ensuite is very small, a far comparison to what we experienced yesterday.
Later in the afternoon, we visited friends, Gary and Cathy who we met in Switzerland in 2019 and shared pizza and a long talk well into the evening.
Returning to our caravan just after 9:30pm, we didn’t take long before heading to bed. We heard rain overnight and once again, our doona had to be removed during the night as it was hot.
