Our sleeps are becoming easier to manage with the internal caravan temperature but last night we had to throw blankets off with the temperature in the caravan hovering around the 21-degree mark when we went to bed. The opening of the door and a roof vent before heading to bed did little to reduce the temperature. We are living in an example of a very well insulated caravan that you would expect from a European manufacturer.
Comfortable in bed, we finally emerged just before 9:30am with little planned for today. It was raining and we were happy to stay in the caravan.
We received a call from our friends inviting us for dinner and an afternoon of board games prior to the meal. We were happy to accept the invitation.
With several hours to “kill” we decided to head to the closest Bunnings store and purchase some small plastic surface plugs “surface guards ” that act as cushions on our cupboard doors. We also figured that we could have a coffee and an early light lunch at the same time.
We drove to Bunnings at Eltham and managed to park under cover in the basement.
We had a shopping spree purchasing the surface guards, a small bottle of isopropyl (to clean the surface before applying the surface guards) and a can of food grade silicon for our stuck blind. “He” also found a couple of cheap tools that he had not seen in Sydney. We had lunch in the Bunnings café and return to our campsite with the rain still falling.
At 2:45pm we left the campsite to head to our friend’s home. Much to our surprise there was blue sky everywhere and the rain had stopped. The sky to the east was pitch black and we confirmed that those clouds had already passed Melbourne.
We played several board games in the afternoon until enjoying a roast dinner with our friends.
We returned to our caravan just before 10pm with rain falling again. The rain started the moment we got into the car and stopped just before “He” went to bed. It was during the final “comfort stop” for the night that “He” noticed the moon and shining stars and not a single cloud in the sky. As quick as it had started, the rain had disappeared.
“He” watch some of the rugby 7’s at the Olympic games before turning the lights out close to midnight.
