10 October 2024 – Sutton to Sydney NSW

The alarm sounded as planned and as we were both keen to head home, we did our pack-up quickly and were ready to depart at 8:30am.

Staying at Sutton gave us a head start heading home from our normal overnight stop at the Alivio Tourist Park.  Once the car warmed up, we had a smooth trip through to Goulburn where we exited the highway to find a dump point for our toilet.  After dumping the toilet, we took the opportunity to refuel at a very cheap price before return to the highway.

We stopped at Pheasants nest for a comfort stop and then decided to follow the GPS home knowing that the route would take us on the M8 and the Sydney tunnel system until Rozelle.

At Sutton, the GPS had predicated our arrival time and the adjusted time for the stop saw us home about 30 seconds after the GPS predicted arrival time.  Using the tunnel system took away the strain of the heavy traffic that we would have encounter if we used the M7 and then M4 or even the M5 and Stacey St Bankstown  through to Liverpool Road to get home.  We have decided that the cost of the tolls is worth it.

Except for getting sick and the problem with the stablisers, we had a great trip. For the first time ever, we cannot record that we encountered any “idiot” drivers with the trip on the roads we travelled very safe.
