Based on the past couple of nights, we had a better sleep with the coughing appearing to slowly be improving. We also had a dose of a cough mixture before retiring for the night.
This morning, we had to prepare for a move of site within the park and yesterday the office asked us to contact them after 10:00am. At 8:45am a park employee called on us advising that they wanted to move us at 9:30am. When he arrived at 9:20am we were almost ready to go but it was obvious the employee was in a hurry. “He” wanted to move the caravan with the car, but the employee was adamant it would be better with their tractor. The move took place, and the employee needed to be told what site we were moving to as he went to the wrong one. Fortunately, we were able to get the caravan level whilst still attached to the tractor.
We went through the setup process and did our setup more efficiently than normally. We decided to buy lunch from Beechworth Bakery, and we purchase a sandwich for “Her” and “He” had the best, yes, the best steak & pepper pie ever.
As we were eating our lunch, the first of our group arrived with the remainder arriving over the next hour or so. Unfortunately, there was a communication issue over van sizes so some of the caravans are only just on sites.
We went for a drive in the afternoon and visited a local waterfall called “Woolshed Falls” and took a couple of pictures. We tried to visit a Chinese Burning Towers site that we assume is the in cemetery. We need to explore further and return before we depart Beechworth.
Returning to the camp site, we extended our awning but had to move to the opposite side of the caravan when the awning failed to stop the sun. It is only a small awning, and the sun was intense in the sky.
The remainder of the afternoon was quiet, and we joined the other members of our group for a happy hour and to celebrate the birthday of one of the members.
It was well after 6:15pm when we returned to the caravan that was a little cool as we had left the air conditioning running to create positive pressure inside the caravan to keep the smell of the numerous woodfires that for some reason, people had to light to keep warm. Seems they have forgotten that we are approaching summer. The caravan park must be making a fortune from the hire of the pits and the supply of wood. We are not impressed with being smothered by smoke.
We both started to fall asleep at the table whilst watching television after our evening meal. The evening meals were frozen McCains “Pub Style” meals that for once, were not all that bad.
It must have been just after 9:30pm when we went to bed setting the alarm for 8:00am.
