16 November 2024 – Belmont NSW

We set the alarm for 6:45am and got out of bed at 7:00am.

After breakfast with our friends, we travelled to Warners Bay and the Saturday markets.  It started to rain on the way and very light rain continued whilst we were at the markets.  There was not a lot to see so it didn’t take long to decide to head back to the caravan park.

On our return journey we shopped at the Star Anise café for coffee and a morning tea snack.

“He” received a telephone call from another friend who we have not seen for almost a year.  It was ironic we had spoken about him a couple of hours earlier and then he called.

After returning to the caravan park “he” extracted some of our Christmas decorations and we setup a very basic Christmas display. We had several discussions with other members of our group and one of the members who is joining us next year gave us some photocopies of the information about flights to Cape York.

We left the caravan park at 5:30pm and drove to the Gunya Hotel where we had our Christmas meal.  Their menu is not expansive but the food that we chose was good.

We returned to the caravan park and placed our lights on the caravan.  We used a couple of studio lights that provided us with the ability to have precise control over the colour of the lights.  We also attached a small laser light to the car to light up one side of the caravan.

Our decision to stow the awning has been validated with an increase in the wind speed.

We watched television from 9:30pm until we went to bed.
