We set the alarm for 7:00pm and pressed the “sleep” button until about 7:40am.
We had our breakfast inside the caravan as the annexe was warm after being closed for the night.
We went to the local markets during the morning, we have seen better, and we returned to our caravan at 11:00am after what was a short visit. “She” did purchase a nice bag at the markets.
Rain had been forecast for 11:00am but that never happened.
We noted during the day that the annexe was very hot. We had opened both ends but due to the weather forecast, had left the plastic windows in place. Whilst the annexe is good, we need to have a real good look at the weather forecast as we might have been better this trip using the awning with a privacy screen at the front. That said, the hardness of the ground on our site would have made it extremely difficult to secure the annexe with the system we use as it involves two very large pegs.
The remainder of our day was quiet, “She” visited some of our friends, “He” watched a couple of games of football and worked on this blog.
We left the caravan park at 5:15pm and drove to the Tuncurry Beach Bowling Club where we were booked for dinner at 5:30pm. Service was very quick, and we both enjoyed our meals. At 7:30pm we moved into the auditorium where we enjoyed “The Dolly Show”. Starring Australian born, Kelly O’Brien, the show is a tribute show that brings the magic of Dolly Parton to Australia, featuring her hits and capturing her voice and style. Kelly is said to be the best in the world performing a Dolly Parton tribute show.
At the conclusion of the show, we decided to head towards Foster to find a McDonalds for a late ice cream. As we crossed the bridge between Tuncurry and Forster, it started to rain. The further we drove, the heavier the rain became. As it was not raining in Tuncurry, we turned around immediately and crossed back across the bridge. Unfortunately, the rain increased in intensity the closer we got to the caravan park and we both got very wet getting from the car into the caravan. Had we continued to McDonalds, the rain would have been light enough to get to the caravan on our return without getting too wet.
We did have an ice cream on our return whilst our wet hair dried.
We watched television until just short of midnight before heading to bed. Once in bed “He” remembered that we had not connected power to the battery in the rear of the Navara that drives our refrigerator. With only fluid in the refrigerator, we decided to see if the battery would last until the morning with that decision also driven by the fact that it was still raining.
